ATTORNEY BIO:
As the Managing Member of Lyden, Chappell & Dewhirst, Ltd's litigation department, Erik Chappell is actively involved in a diverse litigation and trial practice in Federal and State Courts. Mr. Chappell has litigated, and when necessary, tried a multitude of cases to the Presiding Judge, Jury, or Arbitrator. Although the majority of Mr. Chappell's cases are business disputes, Mr. Chappell also maintains a Family Law practice and will evaluate all potential cases, including personal injury or criminal cases on a case by case basis. Although it is not possible to describe the nature of all business cases, Mr. Chappell has litigated employment disputes including the defense of numerous wrongful discharge and discrimination claims; unfair competition claims which involved covenants not to compete, breaches of fiduciary duties, or misappropriation of corporate opportunities; construction disputes; real estate disputes; shareholder disputes; and all manner of contract disputes. Mr. Chappell also represents a diverse clientele ranging from significant businesses to closely held companies as their outside counsel providing general advice on an as-needed basis.
